Did you all watch the video for the Color Run???

Yea, there’s no way that I’m not doing this.

What better way to kick off marathon training?!

February Photo Challenge // 2.1.12 // your view today
I wasn’t on board with this earlier today, but I am now.
So here’s a photo of my view today tonight.
(Found a Trader Joes gift card in my wallet that was re-gifted to me by JWO when he realized he wouldn’t use it. I used it tonight to buy flowers and a bottle of wine with a smiley face on it. Pretty sure he’d approve.)

Kina Grannis & Friends // Fix You (Coldplay cover)

Stunning.

—————————

When you try your best, but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can’t sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can’t replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Whoopsie-daisy.
Just signed up for the Chicago Marathon. Again.
I swear, I just black out and my fingers and wallet make all the decisions.
Training officially starts the week of June 4th.
Sooo…
Who’s with me?!

Just signed up for the Chicago Marathon. Again.

I swear, I just black out and my fingers and wallet make all the decisions.

Sooo…

Who’s with me?!

Post script.

You guys.

The purpose of my last post was to vent and to feel feelings (weird, I know),

not to receive an outpouring of kind words and messages and emails.

But that’s exactly what I got.

You guys are amazing.

Thank you.

Three years, eight months.

The length of my longest relationship. (Rounded to the nearest month.)

When you’re with someone for that long, even if you have your fair share of problems or fights, you never really think there’s going to be an end date.

An expiration date.

A time where you won’t feel the same way you’ve always felt about that person.

A time where you have to picture your future without that person.

A time where that person will say incredibly hurtful things to you. (And you’ll probably do the same.)

This break-up was by no means unexpected.

And I wish I could say that that makes it easier.

But I would be lying.

((This is an awkward thing for me to write about here. Because while this is MY place to write whatever I want, he knows about this bloggy blog. (Hi JWO!) His friends know. My friends know. My coworkers know. My parents and siblings know. It’s hard for me to be entirely honest in this space because of the people who I know can read what I put here. But for the past two years, this has been my place. And it’s going to continue to be my place.))

I have a lot of love in my heart for the person that I’ve been with for nearly 4 years. And I don’t see that changing any time soon.

I have no idea where this decision will take us. Or where I will be a few months from now. Or years from now.

I’m sad. I’m scared. I’m nervous. I’m relieved.

But most of all, I’m ready.

Not ready to date. Not ready to move on entirely. Not ready to forgive (or forget). Not ready for the hard times that I know will be coming.

…I’m ready to be happy.

So very ready.

Copy cat.
The best part about this outfit?
I have seen this image so many times in the past few weeks that I did not even have to think about this outfit.
I just went into my closet, got dressed, and walked out the door.
The best kind of outfit, in my opinion.

littlecageofmine asked: I love the quote on the sidebar of your blog and am wondering where it's from. Also, just a little note to tell you I adore you and your bloggity blog. xo

Aww, thanks! :)

It’s from Love is a Mixtape by Rob Sheffield. It’s a book I read years ago (in high school maybe) and it’s one of my favorites. The quote is also a fave of mine and (for better or worse) pretty accurately describes me. The perfect quote for an About Me section, I guess!

She was a real people-pleaser. She worried way too much what people thought of her, wore her heart on her sleeve, expected too much from people, and got hurt too easily. She kept other people’s secrets like a champ, but told her own too fast. She expected the world not to cheat her and was always surprised when it did.

We’re hiring. So if you’re into teenagers you’re into the fascinating world of teen (and twenty-something) marketing research and insights, click here for job descriptions and submission info.
By the way, the above picture is exactly how valleygirldubs, cruzich, and I celebrate every morning at work (not pictured: coreybwills).
If I know you, let me know you’re applying. Or message me if you have questions. Don’t forward your resume to me. I’ll probably just draw a robot on it and then use it as a placemat when I eat lunch at my desk.

This.
…is ridiculous.
But also true.
We’re hiring!

The wisdom teeth are coming out tomorrow at 10am.
Give me all of the ice cream.
And all of the sprinkles.
(Secretly (or I guess, not-so-secretly) scared out of my mind. But this kid makes it a little better.)
